Intro of Research Topic:

Is a student more motivated to go to college for the initiative of learning or for higher salary purposes? The variables will be how much learning a person takes out of a class, and how high a person's salary is now in imposed to how much they will make after they're out of college.

Your question could be: Which is a greater motivating factor for college students - love of learning or higher salary?

In some ways it depends on the age of the student. For many younger people the motivation might be to prepare for a job that pays well. As we age, we tend to look at life and learning differently, and now for me the learning for learning's sake is more important.

You need to think about some things. In terms of your variables, how will you be able to determine how much learning a person takes out of class? And will you assume how much they will make after college, based upon salary scales in their chosen fields?

Just a few thoughts. I hope they help.

I would change my variables perhaps to the person's motivation. One motivation being increased knowledge and the other being higher salary. It is possible that you'll run across people who have both those reasons or even others, such as some go to college to experience a taste of being independent while others go out of obligation (their parents want them to go), etc.

Most folks it would be for the money.
But if the job is boring the money would not be worth it.
