Frankly if I owned the Cubs I would cut the cord with both of them. Whoever were their pitching coaches through the years should have been fired on the spot. Neither one of them were ever taught proper pitching mechanics. The result has been obvious. It's too late in the game to change either one of them. Best case scenario would be to make the stronger of the two a middle relief pitcher and the other a one or two inning closer. I would never start either one of them again.

Wood should just stay in the bullpen. Wood is finished as a starter.
Prior should give the starting rotation another try.

Prior and Wood should both be gone. They are adding Jason Schmit so that will be a good move.
I live in Texas and I remember when Kerry Wood got drafted out of a small city called Irving TX. He then went on to throw 170 some odd pitches in a game in the playoffs and he was arm injury prone from there. Prior is the same way, with his funky delivery he puts way to much strain on the elbow and shoulder area, which will just lead to the end of his career.

It is pretty well understood that Wood will be pitching out of the bullpen this season. He may even have a shot to become the closer.

No. Wood knows he's in the 'pen. He has had too many shoulder/arm injuries and can not be counted on. As for Prior, the Cubs are looking at that situation as if Prior is healthy, it's a bonus. They're not depending on either of them anymore(finally), and are ready for backup plans.

he's going to flow from the pen, making approximately 30 appearances in the past he hurts himself lower back and is going on the 60 day DL together with his pal Mark past. Then they could proceed to leach of the consistently failing company that they have leached off for 5 years.

No he has had 2 many arm problems. He could make a very good setupman / closer though.

he should def go to the pen. the results of him starting aren't good and it's def worth a shot because the cubs don't have much relievers.
