I prefer Late Night. Conan O'Brien is more intelligent, has better comedic timing, is better able to read and play the audience, and while he works with much of the same material as Tonight (and many of the sketches leave something to be desired), much of the humor of his show is jokingly at his own expense, rather than nothing but the same cheap shots repeated over and over.

At his best, Conan is probably more uproariously funny, but I watch both. Craig Ferguson is really good, too. I happen to like Craig and Jay more than Conan, so it's not always about laughing uncontrollably - sometimes I just feel like a few chuckles before heading off to dreamland.

I like Conan, but like you, I can't stay up that late if i want to make it to work on time in the morning.
