If you use hair conditioner it wont hurt too much. The reason why is because it moisturizes the skin and it is easy for you to shave. I use conditioner every time. What you do it rub conditioner in the "place" and then you shave the long hair off by running the razor downwards. When all the long hair is off then you rub some more conditioner on the "place" and then very carefully and gently shave upwards.

I am in the same situation as you.
Don't worry about these people telling you to go natural. I find it more comfortable and more asthestic to just shave it off.
First, sit on the floor, position a mirror of which you can look at yourself, and take a good pair of small scissors and cut as short and close to your skin as you can.
Next, sit in a hot bath for 15 minutes or more, then lather up with lots of shaving cream, and shave DOWNWARDS first, then you can shave upwards (towards your navel.)
It might take a few times to get everywhere and it will feel weird for like 2 days, keep lotion or hydrocortizone on it if it itches.

Nair works best. It doesn't leave razor bumps and doesn't cut you and removes the hair best. Waxing works good too but if you do that it should be done by a professional and can be more expensive and is more painful.

Yes its a pain in the *** at first. When I first started doing it years ago, I had cuts, ingrown hairs, itching, etc etc. But after you do it over and over again, your skin gets used to it. I just use shaving gel. Lots of it.

Always use a new razor. You will have to pull the folds tight to get everything. Use warm to hot water. Take your time. After several times, you'll work up a technique that will reduce the time. Care first , speed second.

Practice makes perfect. Just go slowly the first time. Razor, small nail scissors work the best and a large mirror.

DON'T go "bald" or else you will be waddling with the "itchies". Your new hairs will be poking out "inside" the lips making life unpleasant.
Oh, and be careful so as not to get into any predicaments where you could end up in hospital with a catheter..........THAT happened to ME when my hubby made the request for a "bald" encounter.

Use a mirror and take ur time. Use a new razor and a good cream....or u can wax if ur worried about cutting urself. I used to do it myself, but found it better and worth the money to have a professional do it. =)

You also may want to try exfoliating the area. Deep cleaning of the pores prior to shaving tends to help the bumps.
