Pale can be used as a verb, adjective, or noun (although not commonly).

Adjective meaning light in color: Because she wore sunscreen and avoided the sunlight, her skin was pale.

Verb meaning to lose color: If I drop a hammer on my toe, first it will pale, then it will redden, and finally it will bruise.

Verb meaning to become insignificant: I knew that my grades would pale next to those of the class valedictorian.

Noun meaning bounds of morality: Her pole dancing is beyond the pale.

Noun meaning a wooden stake: The house was surrounded by a pale fence.

Sentence using the word in all of its forms: Spike will pale at the sight of Buffy with her pail of pales that she might use to impale the already pale vampire.

You just have when you asked the question.

Other than that you use it as a descriptive word to mean anything of a lighter shade/colour for example when somebody is ill it is said that they look pale.

um...it's also an adjective i think, which would describe a noun, or another adjective...
