several actually. for some reason (vacation, remodeling,death?) it may have had to close for a bit and now reopen. also, not all stores are 24 and many don't expect them to be so could be reminder to let them know. and of course some business own several stores (like a drug store) some are 24 some are not so again letting people know this one is. again, sometime night people (i speak from experience ) are half asleep and just may need to be sure. plus if you really needed something you don't want to waste time trying the door so the sign lets you know you can park your car and come on it. am sure there are others but all can think of right now.

Just because it's a 24-hour store doesn't mean it's actually open for business. For example, the store may have recently went OUT of business and someone might not realize that.

Maybe in case it closes for holidays...
But here's another one - why would a store that is open 24/7 have this sign in the window....

7 DAYS A WEEK
SUNDAYS TOO

So they can turn it off when they close. (unless it's open 7 days a week, which I doubt since it's open 24 hours) and for when they close on holidays like Christmas!!!

They probably have to change it to "Closed" on Christmas, if the stoner behind the counter walks out halfway through the night shift, or in case they get robbed at 2:30 in the morning.
