It;s not the fuel pump or filter. It has good spark. Its not restricted exhaust. Sometimes it will idle. It only brings up code 131. The repair shops and the muffler shops all say bad converters. I disconnected the exhaust with the same results. I'm baffled.

Removing the exhaust will create more problems, not eliminate them. What do you mean by sometimes it will idle? I don't know about the catalytic converters going bad, as you'd smell it. the exhaust would smell something like rotten eggs, but I'm not sure about diesel. I'd check your timing first. Then I would check your O2 sensor.

you need to check and see if it has a rubber line on it somewhere that may be collapsing,,i had one do this a while back and it was real hard to find,it would only do it under a strain, and that was what stumped me on it,but id try this, and if that doesn't help ,check the timing on it ,it may be off a little it doesn't take much to throw one off,and make it run bad,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
