I have a 1988 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4X4. The oil filter is located on the fender on the driver' s side. There are two oil lines running from the engine to the filter. Where the oil filter would normally be is an adapter. Either it is leaking or the oil lines themselves are leaking. It is hard to see the oil lines except right near the adapter. The lines run under the exhaust manifold. Anybody have experience with this sort of leak. Some have told me there is a O-ring ther that leaks. Any help would be appreciated.

As said before this is a common problem and if they have never been changed it is probably more that just the o-rings. The good thing is that these oil lines are now available aftermarket. I have owned a 1990 and 2 1994 s-10 blazers and i have changed the oil lines in all 3. the lines are about $60 dollars (aftermarket) and they come with the o-rings. a socket and a really long extension will allow you to get to the bolt under the vehicle. grab a flashlight and look on the lower part of the motor on the driver side. what your looking for is above the front differential. You'll probably have to fight with it a lil bit but it's fairly easy to change.

You're just going to have to get under there and wipe everything down real good, maybe use a good degreaser an hit it with a hose. Next start it and look around with a flashlight for the leak. If there are any B nuts on the lines, try tightening those first.

clean the area where you think it's leaking...then start the vehicle and look for the oil leak. If all you did is change the filter..I'd try to be sure the filter is tight. Also, sometimes the old gasket doesn't come off when you pull the filter. pull the filter back off and see that there is not the old gasket stuck up in there...I have seen this happnen.

Yes there is a o ring that can leak also there can be a clamp rubbing a hole in the pipe.If you get new o rings make sure they match the old ones we had some that didn't exactly match and the customers engine seized aft re 7 miles didn't leak at first but after the engine warmed up it leaked badly.

the oil lines are notorious for leaking, chevy still has this problem with new trucks, the adapter plate is also a very common spot for leaks. i believe there are 2 bolts that hold the adapter plate on and o-rings are used to seal it on the block.

that for my section is kinda intense being it has a blown head gasket. i ought to target to talk his cost down extra. because in case you purchase it, think about to spend about $500 to $seven-hundred in aspects, not difficulty-free paintings, and gadget shop paintings. My proper suggestion is to ignore that vehicle and move on, because you may nicely be getting unseen complications it rather is linked with a blown head gasket. Please......dangle on on your money and seem for something it rather is in extra powerful mechanical condition.
