I have to agree with you that the name Ashleigh is horrid. Every time i see a name ending in leigh i automatically pronounce it like 'lay'. It's the same thing as sleigh but without the S! So Ashlay, i completely understand why would want to change your name. However, Aisling is quite different, here in America we would assume it's pronounced 'ay-sling'. Which personally, i think is kind of cool. But if it's more common where ever you live, and people would know how to pronounce it properly then there's no problems! Honestly just do what you want. Yes it's going to be a hassle legally changing your name but once it's done and over with, it will probably be worth it.
