I'm 24, but i think teenagers these days should listen to older music, maybe from the 60's through the mid 90's. Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Zombies, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Elton John,

It depends on the teenager. I listen to all kinds of music - punk, goth, alternative, Japanese pop/rock, ethereal, exotic/foreign, dance, ect. Some of my favorite artists/bands are: Bjork, The Cure, Warren Zevon, SOM, Nico, Qntal, and The Smiths.

Depends on what part of the world you live in. I live in the southern U.S. and all of our radio stations are either classic rock or country and that should give you a hint.
Around where I live EVERYBODY likes country and some people like rap I guess (but it isn't that popular).
I personally like the older country (i.e. Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones....) and old rock (The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd....) and of course southern rock (The Allman Brothers, Bob Seger, CCR.....).
Lynyrd Skynyrd is huge here.

do you even know what you're getting yourself into by asking that question? not meaning to be rude...
seriously, it depends on the type of person and clique that person is in. personally i like pop punk and emo. those are the ppl i normally would be with also. even girls and guys like totally different music. if you're buying for someone, i'd consider buying a giftcard to tearget or itunes. cheap music in both.
oh, if you know what kind of person...
skater/emo/punk/gothic...basicly those people are gonna listen to any modern rock from punk to screamo.
preppy/jocks....listen to mostly pop stuff [think christina aguleria]
neone else is rap and hip-hop.

rock and rap. there is a category for each at my school. if you like rap then your on this side. if you like rock then your on this side. its so stupid!!! country is cool but a lot of teenagers say its dorky. thats dumb. but whatever floats your boat i guess :)
