Depends on what you mean. Physically, yes, but mentally, no.
When you're 21 (that's the age most athletes become pros), you're at your peak physically, and mentally, you're at the bottom because you don't have any experience yet in the pro level, so you need to learn a lot of things.
As you play and get older, your body gets worn down, so your athleticism begins to decline, but since you've been playing the game for a while, you're knowledge increases. So, you can use your mental knowledge to help compensate your declining athleticism.
At age 30, it's about the stage where your athleticism and your knowledge of the game are both about equal, so you're consider at your prime.
When you're in the mid-30s, your athleticism is on a downhill slide because of all those years of punishment, but your knowledge is way up there. Problem is, you can't use your knowledge when your body can't do what you want it to do.

Yeah, well, not all you know
your bones, your muscles your physical body is not as fit as when you;re young (early 20s, or as a teenagers)
