Are you wanting to do this? Are you wanting to make a statement or just have some fun? Where i live, we don't have cheerleading as an option, unless we are members of an actual Dance Academy who feed into various sporting clubs. (In other words - only professional). I think if you want to go out there, have fun, be toned, be athletic, (and hopefully very well balanced) you should just go for it. It is nothing to be ashamed of as a feminist. From what I have seen it is very hard work, lots of training, you have to be supremely physically fit, you just get to dress nice while doing it. You are not going to be naked are you? Or wearing signs like the others have suggested. Have a good time. Enjoy your youth. The worst thing that could happen is the regret you will feel if you don't at least give it a go. Hope I could help.

Feminists are women who understand that we have the right to choose our own path as individuals. I cheered, I now coach cheer. I decided to be a stay-at-home mom instead of a working one. Do any of those things preclude me from being a feminist? No, because they were my choice. I am free to make my own choices and no one can force decisions on me.
I say that if you want to do cheerleading, then do it.

We can't decide for you, it is up to you. But i am a cheerleader and yeah it can be stressfull at times but it all pays off in the end, and it is a lot of fun, I think you should go for it. Good Luck!!! Try-outs can be so nerve racking.

if u like it,u do it! it is not tottaly against it. going around with a sign that says "im cute cause im a girl" would be against it. so do what u like and enjoy doing it!

well i dunno about cheerleading. i used to be cheerleader in elementary but now im on my high school's drill/dance team. the dance team is way more better than the cheer squad. you should try out for the dance/drill team. i luv being on the dance team. you have very nice experiences and get physically fit. plus guys notice you more.

I think it's really ultimatly left up to personal prefrence. Do what you like and consider if its something dealing with feminism or not.
