Ask a question that is likely to divide opinion. politics is a good bet and ethics in general is also good. Aim to ask something that is slightly offensive and politically incorrect:
1. Race related
2. Sexual
3. Actually conduct a poll and make it clear in the question that this is what you are after, if people are not trying to get best answer and they know all you want is their opinion they they will keep answering despite all the other answers there already.

The first thing you could try is put up a picture that has a green 'OFFICIAL' tag under it, to make it look like you're a celebrity. After that, or instead of that if you prefer, ask something really, really controversial and against most people's opinions, such as 'Why are black people so stupid?' or 'How many gays did you kill today?'. You will eventually get banned, but if you ask it at the right time it will take a while for the Yahoo staff to get around to deleting it and in the meantime you may manage to get lots of answers (most of them flames).

Ask it at the right time, in the right section, and try to ask an interesting question... an interesting avatar might help too...

Your best bet would be to go to a section where there are lots of people answering questions, and don't use foul or obscene language in their answers, so they won't get pulled.
