I have been fired on exactly the 3rd month to the day even though I got along with everyone, dressed nicely and pulled in the sales. I missed no days and am not sure what happend. Has this happened to you?

I worked at a bank for 6 weeks and one day they called me in and just said "You're Fired." That's all they said. So I threw a fit and I went to the owner of the bank and told them that legally they had to give me a reason or I would contact a lawyer. They couldn't come up with a reason so needless to say I worked for that bank for 4 more years until I quit to have my baby. They have to give you a legit reason for firing you or you tell them you're getting a lawyer.

Unless you are a contract worker , you can be fired at any time for any reason. I was let go on a job for being 10 minutes late coming back from lunch. They had me sign that I read the work rules before I started. They said I knew the rules about being late & rules were rules No excuses. I had worked there 3 days. So I guess I had it coming. That when I started working for myself. Then I could fire someone for being late. ( But I never Have) RULES are RULES// RACEROCKE: what does race have to do with anything. There are whites just as lazy as any race. I have had people of every race who are not the best of workers.

I was fired shortly before I turned 18 for no reason other than the company didn't want to give me my raise (adult wage)

My husband was fired 1 day before his 3 month "trial" period because he was told he was not working out. Not true of course he was doing a great job - no mistakes, got on well with all customers, knew the product etc. We found out later that the company had already hired a replacement for him before he was fired, and that at 3 months the salary goes up and benefits kick in. Obviously a ploy by the company to keep salaries at a minimum (training) and paying out no benefits.

All though you got along with every body dosnt mean that they liked you. Their are a lot of backstabbing beasts out their. The type of person that is nice to you in your face but would love to see you hurt and talk bad things behind your back, or to your boss. I have had confrontations with people like that my best friend of 5 years did me dirt. We all learn that their are bad people not every body is nise like you or I. I hope that you fine another job where you can be treated as nice as you are.

Most states are "at will" states and it means that employers can hire and fire for any reason at all, or no reason at all. It's the law.
The only way they cannot, is if you have an employment contract, which most do not.
