Story of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde?

Referring to the story, analyze Jekyl and especially Hyde using the concepts of archetypes and the shadow self. Find a modern example that explores the same theme and in your opinion gets the point across effectively.

It is refering to the good and bad in all of us, the over all desire to let a part of ourselves that we keep private out to have its own way. If you have seen Hero's the Character Nicki/Jessica is a very Jekyll/Hyde personification.

A good modern example would be Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker. In his lust for power, the good Anakin is overcome by evil becoming Darth Vader. Having been denied a childhood with his mother, an open relationship with his lover, and the right to question the Jedi Order, his repression opens the doorway to Palpatine.
