Cause without the singer the song can't be sung but without the song, the singer can't sing. It's so confusing!!! And second thought: what about the songwriter?!

I think that the songwriter came 1st cause they wrote the song. Then the song came 2nd because the songwriter had to write the song. then the singer came 3rd. Or they came at the same time. When!!!?

The singer had to have the song first to have something to sing in the first place

OK the singer could have wrote the song or it was a very old song and they sang that song or the singer was there and someone told him to sing the song it could be eather one and the songwriter might be before the singer so it basically writes the song for the singer to sing or the songwriter was done with the song the singer was just singing a song he/she made up so the singer is like the songwriter 1st so it is both and then they started making people to write the songs for the singer to sing OK? lol

The Song. Because good songwriters will always tell you how they 'tapped into something', or where 'inspired' to write a song, not that they actually created it from their own head. The song is bigger than any one person, and came from someplace deeper than our own soul, something more like the collective soul of humanity.
And you'll also hear sometimes: the song writes the singer, not the other way around. A good song can change you, especially if it came out of you...

the song because normally nobody knows about the singer untill the hear the song and nobody knows about the songwriter untill they know about the singer or the song. the song is definatly first because with out the song there is no publicity. and if things aren't publicized nobody knows. and if nobody knows about the song how can they know about the singer?

Oooh, I saw this on Family Guy...it was during the time of cave dwelling folk...four neanderthals were sitting together exchanging pleasant grunts when suddenly, and I might add simultaneously, they burst into song, which tells us that the three were intertwined together...these mere cavemen discovering the gift of singing even as they spontaneously became the first writers of the first song...I think it was "The longest time", a song so good Billy Joel covered it thousands of years later on his album, An Innocent Man in 1983, which saw moderate success...
