On your left side. It keeps everything flowing nicely and isn't putting pressure on any organs or the baby. The worst is to lay on your back. You can actually kill your baby even though I haven't personally heard of it being done. It has something to do with cutting off a nerve from all the pressure of the baby and your uterus, etc.All of my ob doctors have told me this numerous times. Obviously the belly isn't a good position either. I don't know why doctors say the left side is better than the right side but either is safe...and more comfortable. just put a pillow between your legs to keep strain off of your back to decrease back pain. Don't take acetiminophen...bad stuff for your baby. Regular tylenol is what I was always told to take.

The best position to sleep is on your side either side with a pillow between your legs in a lateral position. The best position is lateral
is on your side with a pillow on your back folded in half a pillow between your legs and a pillow under your arm and head.Reposition every 2 hours and try to put your feet up during the day . One important thing is don't fight your fatigue(tiredness)during the day while you're pregnant. When you go for a walk early in the day you sleep better at night that's my opinion.I'm 37 weeks pregnant now and that works for me and all the other pregnant woman I know.Tylenol is the best not others like motrin and aleeve because they have harmful substances in them .

I was a belly sleeper until I got pregnant. I would try to sleep on my side, but alwasy woke up on my belly. I asked the doctor, and he said whatever position I am comfortable in was fine. That included my back and my belly. He said when it gets to the point I need to avoid my back, it will be too uncomfortable anyway. That was fine until I went into pre term labor, now I have to sleep on my sides all the time. He said one was as good as the other. The only way I can get comfortable is with my leg over a pillow, another one stuck under my belly and one to put my head on.

Sleep on your side with a pillow between your legs. It does wonders. Also the doctor suggested Tylenol. Don't take anything like Advil. Any other medicine needed besides pain...ask your doctor.

Personally i sleep on my side with a body pillow! I love the body pillow! Its uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach and apparently its not the best thing to sleep on your back due to pressure on certain nerves and stuff.
I was also told to NEVER take ibuprofen - my doc said it can be a contributing factor to miscarriage in the first trimester. I was told to only ever take tyenol whilst pregnant - anything else needed to be cleared by doc beforehand!

All medication you may be thinking of taking should be consuted over with your physician firsthand. The only drug I know is safe to take in low dosages is Tylenol.
As for the sleeping position, laying on your left side is best to get the best blood flow to your heart which is best for the baby.
Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck.

My doc told me I could sleep on either side or on my stomach (which I did until my baby was born.) As far as the ibuprofen, you aren't supposed to take Aspirin (ie. Bayer) or Ibuprofen (ie. Advil). The only pain reliever that does not cross the placenta (get to your baby) is acetaminophen (ie. Tylenol.)

I used to love sleeping on my tummy, but I can't now. I have been placing body pillows all around me and a pillow between my legs. It has been working a little, but there's nothing like tummy rest. As far as the meds go, I woudl talk to your doctor and ask. Don't take anything without asking first. Good luck!

the best is to lay on your left side after 5 months something about the nerve that runs along your right sight, and not on your back, its sucks and gets uncomfortable, and you'll probly wake up and be on your back our stomach or however but try your best and as far as medicine, dont risk it unless perscribed by your doctor, good luck
