I heard that you can just normally throw it in the washer and dryer and that even those it says 'dry clean ONLY' it doesn't matter a whole lot. Is this the case? What does happen if I decide to throw into the regular wash?

I wouldn't risk it if i were you! You can go to your local discount or grocery store...and buy a product called, "Dryell"....it is designed to clean your dry-clean only items in the dryer! It works! It will be in the laundry section.

You should be able to throw it in the wash, delicate cycle and low heat dryer. Dryell would be your best bet, it comes with a liquid stain remover that works great!

You can wash it just fine. The dryer will (maybe) shrink it. Wet and heat cause it, so they sell a product that you spray on and tumble dry, and it won't shrink. There are your choices.
