Do you feel that the glasses make you less attractive? You probably just hate the idea of wearing glasses, and you're being a little hard on yourself. Once you get used to them, you won't notice.

But, wait until you're a little older, then consider getting contact lenses; your entire personality will change.

For now, you're too young to consider laser surgery, and that's a good thing since there are no studies on long-term effects of laser surgery available and we don't know what's going to happen 30 years from now, do we? Besides, you still have a lot of physical growing up to do and that may have an effect on your vision.

Soft lenses are EASY to get used to but more people have reported infections with soft lenses and they get damaged very easily. Consider going through the discomfort (like something is in your eye) of getting used to hard lens, and get yourself the gas permeable lenses; once you get used to them, they're better than wearing conventional glasses, and you might even improve one or two lines of vision on the eye chart.

By the time you're 16 or so, the ophthalmology field will have a lot more experience in yet another vision correction procedure where a tiny slit is made on the side of the eye and a very flexible lens unfolded inside which is guided to the center of the eye; the advantage is that it is less evasive than laser surgery. It's better than wearing contact lenses that can be lost if you enter a swimming pool with them on. Wait. Let others be experiments for the ophthalmologists that are learning and charging huge amounts of money for a 15-20 second per eye procedure (that's how they pay for their expensive lifestyles). Good luck and best wishes (I've been wearing contact lenses for 41 years).

You might want to try a place like "LensCrafters" they have a full 30 day return for ANY reason and replacement. My wife hated her glasses. Took her three tries, but finally found one that fitted her face shape and looked good on her. How long have you worn glasses? If this is your first set, it might just be a case of getting used to them. Glasses nowdays are very fashionable, if you get the right pair that suits your face. Ask youself, Do you REALLY look ugly, or do you just think you do?

They have a lot of cute glasses out now a days maybe you just havent ran into a cute pair. Maybe you should try contacts they come In all different colors that might work better. I know they make glasses for people with perfect vision and they are just for fashion so just keep looking.

I know how you feel, I always felt awkward wearing glasses. Wait until you are a little older, then you can get contacts. They are a great alternative to wearing glasses. Until then just find some glasses that you feel comfortable in and enjoy being able to see!

I would get lasik or use contacts instead. I'm sure you are just being hard on yourself though, it usually takes people awhile to get used to their glasses.
