Sorry, but the 49ers are coming off some tough breaks and are actually doing better than I would have guessed. Alex Smith is still developing, and they have to completely rebuild from the old days with Steve Young and Jerry Rice.
Their team is still young, and with maturity, experience, and a first round draft pick or two they should be up and running.

They're still a year away. If they draft right this next off season, and Antonio Bryant matures a little. They are a serious contender.
