Eradicate every tree in your neighbourhood! Or, be thankful that you have a house and a yard and some beautiful trees to look at, that change colour in Fall, and realize that beauty does not come without a price. Almost all cities have yard waste pickup at the curb, and every homeowner should have a rake and access to containers for leaves. If you live in a house, there is a trade-off: apartment living allows one the break from yard work, but a homeowner can go outside in his or her yard at any time of the day or night and sit and relax and look at the landscaping and say, "Hey, this is my little piece of the Earth, and it belongs to me." And when we are gone, and the long-lived oaks are being taken of by a future owner of that piece of the Earth, they will sit and think about who lived there and took care of those trees before, and thank them for appreciating those trees enough to allow them to grow. You're actually getting off easy. I have all new landscaping, not a mature tree on my lot, and I am constantly raking up from the NEIGHBOURS' trees, whose leaves all blow on my property. They get so thick that you can't even see the ground. So count your blessings that you have trees--beautiful oaks yet--and do some of the raking yourself, and get help from family or friends to do the rest. An unpleasant job can become fun if you have a helper. Save some leaves for composting and mulching, and put the rest out for pickup.

I agree with the mower method. You can use the mower catcher and bag them as you mow. It takes awhile if you have to empty the catcher frequently, but is much easier & quicker than raking! You can forget the catcher & bagging the leaves if you mulch as you mow. The only problem with this is that they can still pack down on your lawn and prevent healthy aeration. I think it's worth the extra effort to use the grass catcher while mowing. Yards are just a lot of work no matter what you do.

I desire I knew... we've much and numerous leaves already and we missed the two large days to rake them UP! we've an extremely large wooded backyard yet, would be unable to attend to to pay for any fancy lawnmowers... So, we in basic terms rake onto the treelawn or tarp and take to the cut back for the "suck truck" Or into the woods in the returned.... i've got paid $25 for some community infants to rake the backyard... i've got additionally offered a case of beer for the neighbor with the "fancy" lawnmower/blower" which cuts out artwork time in a million/2 ! you additionally can use a leaf blower or pass over them with the lawnmower and mulch them finding on how lots you have- we can't do this it quite is in basic terms too lots! solid luck

Either cut down the oak tree or move to a place that don't have trees.

I have oaks in my front yard, too. I just mow over them and let them mulch on the ground.

Stop raking and buy a mulching lawn mower. It works for me. Good Luck.

Have a great day!

I have a mulching mower and mulch the leaves into the grass. you need to chop them up as finely as possible and add some fertilizer to help break them down. it is great for your soil!
