I think it was Colorado who passed the law saying you could get married at 12 or 13 with parental permission. I would never get married at this age. What do you think about it?

Wow. When I was in high school I was ready to get married. We broke up after high school (never got married) then I got married to a wonderful man when I was 24. When I look back on it now, 18 would have been too young. Wow, how people change. At 12 or 13 I don't think kids have even had the opportunity to experience BECOMING an adult, much less acting like one. Besides, unless they have rich parents to support them, what will they do for money, or education?

I think there really should be a realistic age limit for marriage. I mean getting married at 12 is WAY TO YOUNG. I mean the parents are going to still have to support the couple because they are way to young to get jobs....so if you are too young to work you are too young to get married.

I got married at 20 and I still think that was too young. I wasn't prepared. But I at least finished school and have my high school diploma.

Age really does not matter if those getting married are emotionally, mentally and spiritually MATURE. There are people who already think and act mature at very young age. If their families are financially stable and the parents are willing to provide, why not marry?

Marriage at a young age is an extremely poor idea. Not only do young people have no idea who they really are in the big scheme of things, they have no idea how to act unselfishly. Marriage is not a "gimme-gimme" situation. It takes a great deal of self sacrifice and giving in when you don't want to.

I think it's a huge mistake. It's hard enough being married when you're right out of your teens and just starting college..fighting for money, I cannot believe any state would allow that not to mention any parent. But that's just my opinion

It's not very smart to get married that young, especially beening that they havent finished adolscents yet. People in their mid 20's are still trying to find themselves, what makes them think pre-teens are mature enough to be married at that age.

That is WAY TOO YOUNG!! Shoot you can't even get a job at that age much less know how to really love someone and know you want to spend the rest of your life with them. Shoot you don't even know who you really are at that age or what you want in a spouse.

That's just ridicules!!

It usually leads to 3 paths....

1. Suicide, or
2. Debt, or
3. Divorce.

Then again, I don't know any couples aged 12-13 xD!

Don't get married untill your 40. Then you know exactly what your looking for; but more importantly you know exactly who you are.
