We are thinking about Kadden for our son (if it is a boy...we get to find out Thursday.) Katelynn is a beautiful name and it does sound a little bit like Caden, but if you like it then there is no problem. Honestly, not that many people are going to even notice the similarities in the name and if they do it really isn't that big of a deal. It sounds kind of cute. "Here are my kids Caden and Katelynn." If you can live with saying that then naming your sweet little one Katelynn shouldn't be a problem. My problem is my last name is Hunt and any c or k words spell a bad word when you use the first initial. I'm a K teacher and my name tag says C. Hunt. I had to cover the C up because too many of my Kindergarteners were sounding it out. It's better than my friend Amy Ho. Her name tag just said A. Ho.

Caden is a wonderful name and very original. I think Katelynn is a bit over used. Try for something a little more original.

Well, I named my daughter Katelynn, just spelled a little different. My usband wanted to name our next son "Clayton" but I said it sounded too much alike, so I understand what your husband is saying. The question is, will you two call her Katelynn, Katie, or Kate? If you think you may call her one of the other names, then I think that naming her Katelynn is fine. And plus, Caden and Katelynn don't sound "too" much alike. Good luck whichever name you chose

I think it does sound a lot like Caden, although they are both nice names. It also may interest you to know the name Katelynn is going to be quite common among your daughter's friends at school. As a "Jenny," I know how hard it is to share a name with tons of people!

Both are very cute, but they really are too similiar. If you go with those names, you'll probably end up calling one a nickname to distinguish.
Elizabeth came to mind first, when I was thinking of a girl name that would sound good with your son's name.
Katie Lynn sounds similar to Kaitlyn but sounds a little bit different from Caden.

yea it does sound pretty close, i mean it's a beautiful name, no doubts about that at all, but katelynn and caden are very similar sounding. But I don't think it really matters in the end does it? so what if they sound similar, I think you should still use it because it is such a pretty name. =)

Hate to say it, but it does sound pretty similar. Think long term - think about possible confusion in the future. It's a very pretty name, but practically it has to fit into your family.
I think a rethink might be in order here. Do you have backup choices? It may not be a girl anyway, so it might not be a problem. If it's a boy, however, don't call him Haydn!

I actually have a cousin named Katelyn and I think it is a beautiful name, I dont think that it matters if it sounds the same or not. If there are sibblings I see nothing wrong with it. Congrats
