Does anyone know of a needy family that could use the money?

You should give it to Heifer Project International

It helps impoverished families worldwide become more self-reliant through the gift of livestock and training in their care. Information on programs and volunteer opportunities.

Wow, that's very nice of you all. Well since Christmas is coming up very soon you should take that into consideration of when you go to make your decision. I personally know of tons of places id put the money into because in my time of need they helped me get back on my feet because of people like you, my life is on the way to being back to normal and i appreciate people like you. I am only 20 but when I was 17 I made bad choices in everything and ended up on the street and had used all my resources. One day a stranger had approached me and just started talking to me and asking me why a young person like me was living the way I was and he helped me. He fed me and gave me a short term shelter just till I got on my feet and I did and.. Wow I am just amazed of how some people are. Thank you for doing what you did and whatever charity you decide just know the people you are helping are truly grateful.

Think about what you want to donate to. Do you want to help cure sick people/children in the US? I would suggest St. Jude's Research Hospital, National Breast Cancer Society, or the American Cancer Society.

There are tons of other places to help other people. Look up America's Charities on google. It gives a good list of all the charities and what they are. You can decide!

Great work collecting all that money!

My preference is always an animal shelters for dogs.

They are woman's and man's best friend. They are often abused and need a warm, loving homes. Dog shelters rely on donations to survive. Please consider donating a portion of your funds to a dog shelter in your city. Every large city has an ASPCA or SPCA. There are also many privately run dog shelters in large cities.

Get in touch with your local churches, they will be able to tell you how to help a family in need.
You could be able to provide a Christmas feast, outfits and presents for the whole family.
Good Luck and well done on your fundraiser!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!

How awesome are you guys?? That is so COOL!!! Contact your Chamber of Commerce in your city and find out the names of your local charities...Figure out which one would be in the most need and joyfully give to that one. God Bless!!

I would do the Red Cross thing and get products bought with that money to a U.S. soldier in Iraq or Afganistan.

wow! 2000 dollars! that's amazing!

i would suggest world vision, because you support a child, and through that child you can sponser a whole community! it's a very rewarding experience, and it's really neat because you can write letters to your sponsered child!

if you want to learn more you can go to worldvision.com.

good luck, and way to go!

ps. i sponser a child through world vision, it's great!
