Well he was born in French Guiana, which is a French department on the South American mainland. So, I would imagine his parents are from there or somewhere around that region...

Why; Willy Sagnol comes from Africa but he's white skinned so you don't question his heritage. Why does it matter, if you live in a French colony you have French citizenship and are eligible to play on the national team. Miroslav Klose was born in Poland as were his parents,no one questions his playing for the German National team. I wonder why?
