Those tools will not work on your 2006 and if it did, it would cost well over $100 when the process is actually free. It's easy for a tech that has done a few and a little complicated if you have never down this before. I will do my best to walk you through it.

1. Turn the key to position 1

2. Press the system selection button (2 outside left on steering wheel) until the basic display (Kilo or temp display) appears in the malfunction display (between tach and speedometer).

3. Quickly Press the trip odometer 3 times. You will hear a noise/signal and the voltage display appears.

4. Press the LOWER scroll forward/back button (2 inside left buttons). The SERVICE MENU should appear.

5. Press the + and - buttons (2 Outside right buttons) and select the CONFIRMATION menu item.

6. Press the LOWER system selection button( 2 Outside left buttons) to confirm. CONFIRMATION appears on the display and the OVERALL SERVICE menu item is highlighted.

7. Press LOWER system selection button (2 Outside left buttons). SERVICE CONFIRMED appears on the display.

8. Press UPPER system selection button (2 Outside left buttons) a few times until the SERVICE MENU appears

9. Using the + & - buttons (2 Outside Right buttons) select SPECIAL OPERATIONS.

10. Press the LOWER system selection button (2 Outside Left buttons) to confirm.

11. Using the + & - buttons (2 Outside Right buttons), select the menu SERVICE 3

12. Press LOWER system selection button (2 Outside left buttons) to confirm.

13. Using the + & - buttons (2 Outside right buttons) select the type of engine oil you used - STANDARD OIL or 229.5

14. Press the LOWER system selection button (2 Outside left buttons) to confirm. ITEM CONFIRMED should appear.

15. Press the UPPER system selction button (2 Outside left buttons) until the basic display appears - Kilo or Temp.

16. Turn off the key.

This looks like more than it really is. After a few times, it should take only a few minutes if that long. I hope this helped.

This means your car requires to be serviced. Get is serviced and the dealers will reset or it automatically resets after required changes done.

You can buy tools which do this for you.
See the link below for one for sale here in the UK, I'm sure there will be plenty available in the US from autopart dealers
