I think that a racist and violent email is considered harassment, which you can sue for. If you think you are actually in danger, though, I'd notify the police.

You allowed others to particape in a "discussion" by giving your email address. Now that you don't like the response, instead of sending back an appropriate response, you want to sue? That seems a bit extreme to me. That will have to be a VERY racist and VERY violent email and it would probably have to be more than one in my mind for you to have a case. But, I'm not a lawyer.

Well, I keep reading more and more racial stuff on here in Answers!, it's definitely out there, but it DOES take two to tango...did you say anything to this person prior to getting the email?
