There are alot of superstitions and wives tails.
These many came about due to the times and situations they lived in. Like saying a black cat that walks in front of you will give you bad luck.
Maybe one day a black cat walked in front of someone and they tripped over because they were not looking where there feet went.
Some superstitions and wives tails also come from logic.
Like don't walk under a ladder.. that's just common sense..
So i feel they are a mixture of common sense and coincidence.
Touch wood. :)

No. If a superstition is proven true, then it is a fact and no longer a superstition per it's definition.

There is plenty of proof out there how 99% of these superstitions came into existence. But none to prove that they are true....................

If you believe in a certain religion of some sort, and you have heard tales that it is true, yes. People come up with these things you know, like Bigfoot and Nessie. It's very hard to seperate these two ideas from one another. I personally semi-believe it

Yes, definitely. If you walk under a ladder, it can be bad luck. Because the ladder might be badly positioned, and could fall on you.
Personally I figure if not only a black cat, but any cat, crossed my path in my own house, it would be bad luck because it would mean the cat was mine. I can enjoy other people's cats, but I would hate to have one. lol
