**usually wrapping because I love to make things beautiful! and I love to make people happy, and feel loved. :) (the whole "giving" thing...)

I've been wrapping gifts for many, many years ... what I'd like to see (after about a quarter century of being the caregiver as a Long-Term single Parent to two disabled children and a short disaster of a marriage to an abusive/violent ex) -- is to FINALLY be the one opening the Christmas Gift from some one -- any one. THAT would DEFINITELY Be a pleasant surprise!

This is a hard question to answer for me because I love to do both. I love opening presents just to see what is inside. But I love wrapping them up to see the expressions on people's faces when I actually got them something they wanted.

Tear it open anytime. Unless you're expected to open the gift a certain way, most people don't care how you get into it.

Wrap the gift. The excitement comes when I see the look on the person's face when they unwrap it. Especially if it's something they wanted but didn't think they would get.

I would rather wrap it. Often, the anticipation is far better than the actual gift.

i personally don't like to wrap gifts...even though i do know how to..i just think that wrapping paper is a total waste of money..you buy it to make a gift look better, but it gets shredded up anyway...i usually buy those gift bags and place the item in it, seal it up with tape and a bow and voila! same thing, lol...they can re-use the bag, and u know that you didn't "waste" money on something that'll get shredded up :P
