Pushing the orange release button isn't putting the buckle into the "ready to snap in" the seat belt latch so I can't wear the seatbelt.

I can't hook the latch plate into the buckle part on my seat belt. I can't wear it because I can't buckle it. The latch part just won't slide into the buckle, as if something were blocking it. It's not that I have it on and can't get it off. The problem is that I can't get it on.

I would get that fixed pronto. Not only is not wearing your seat belt hazardous it is also illegal in many jurisdictions. A body shop or new car dealer would definitely be able to fix your seat belt. Do not procrastinate.

You have to take it to a collision specialist as they are the only ones certified to fix it. This is a saftey issue now. You would want the job done right anyways because you don't want to be in a car fire and your seat belt won't unlatch.
