It wil restore to a previous day if there was a checkpoint. Please select the nearest checkpoint in past and restore. You won't lose any personal data.

Metalink is right. Make sure the date you are trying to restore to is in bold, darkened. You will have to restore to a point that is available

I did a search and it came up with this feasible fix:

YOU PROBABLY HAVE THE RESTORE SETTINGS OFF RIGHT CLICK ON THE COMPUTER ICOM ON YOUR DESKTOP CHOOSE PROPERTIES IT WILL TAKE YOU TO SYSTEM PROPERTIES CHOOSE SYSTEM RESTORE TAB CHECK TO SEE IF THE BOX IS ENABLED IF SO ITS UP TO YOU TO DESABLE IT OR NOT IF YOU DO IT STILL WONT TAKE YOU BACK TO PREVIOUSE DAY BECAUSE YOU JUST ENABLED IT
