What program can be used to say what you type for it to say?

i know there is software out there that you can type anything for the computer to say and it says it. what program is that?

if you have an apple, it's called TextEdit

basically you type stuff in, and then select Edit>Speech>Start Speaking, and it says what is written

I have used IBM ViaVoice. You can find it at http://www.speaktext.com/text-to-speech-live-player/Download.htm

It takes a while to learn how to interpret your talk and language. Worth the time I feel.
