After Escape from L.A. bombed at the box office I really doubt that anyone is going to take another shot at that franchise. Of course, I wouldn't have expected them to make that movie in the first place 16 years after Escape from NY so what do I know?
Still, I wouldn't get my hopes up. When your US box office is less than half of your budget, you don't usually get a chance to make a sequel.
