I have 2 children, a boy 15 and a girl 9. I was wrapping the presents the other night, and i could have cried. I wouldn't be able to fill a bin liner bag with what was there and i had spent approx 600 pounds. To say i was gutted, would be an understatement. Now i gotta fill out with junk. Another 1 or 150 pounds no doubt. What a farce

my eldest who is nearly 8 has had about £160 but really that has only got him a mountain bike which i got a good deal on, a few games for his gamecube and a few stocking fillers. My youngest who are nearly 2 and 3 have had about £110 each but they share each others toys and they have got a few more than last year, but i have been saving and shopping all year because i just haven't got enough to buy it all in a few weeks, and we come from a very big family and i like to buy a little bit for everyone, so it can work out very expensive.
I don't think my kids get too much but they do get enough for their age.

We are on a tight budget. So honestly about $50 each (2 kids ages 2&4) and one big thing they can share (also about $50) So in total about $150 or so. X-mas is more about the family traditions and the coming of winter for us than anything. We make cookies to eat and snowflakes to hang up and other fun activities. I search online for fun ideas.

I have 4 children so honestly I get one big gift for all of them to share (ages 5-10) and the rest small gifts. I rely a lot on my family to fill in the rest. I am on a tight budget especially this year.

IT DOES DEPEND ON YOUR BUDGET, WHAT WE DO IS LOOK ON EBAY EG MY SON WANTED A £100 HORNBY TRAIN SET AND WE HAD IT ON EBAY FOR £45 BRAND NEW AND SEALED. AND WITH DRUMS THE YEAR BEFORE THAT.YOU CAN HAVE A VAST AMOUNT OF PRESENTS WITHOUT SPENDING A MINT .. WE GET PRE OWNED PS2 GAMES ASWELL FROM GAMESTATION AND THEY ARE ALWAYS GOOD QUALTY.
WE TEND TO GO FOR 1 MAIN PRESENT .. THE SOMETHING THEY REALLY WANT THEN GET BITS AND PIECES PYJAMAS AND BUBBLES AND STUFF ENDS UP AROUND £250 FOR ABOUT £500 WORTH OF STUFF BUT BUY THINGS THROUGH THE YEAR AS IT HELPS SPREAD THE COST
HOPE THIS HELPS

It totally depends on your budget...
Personally, we spend $3-400 per child.
Our youngest is 15. The middle one is 18. And our oldest is 20 and married... we spend slightly more on the two of them combined than we do on the two younger ones.
I agree with the person who said you can reasonably get what they wish for with that amount.
I truly believe it is the thought that counts... you can make your child happy and only spend $5.00... if that's what you have, and they know you went out of your way to make them happy, that's all that matters.

Between $200 - $300 each. That buys nearly all of their "reasonable" christmas wishes. They are still young, 6 & 4, I am sure that they will grow into much more expensive tastes.
