well there not going to expend for a very long time, but the 4 top places that would get an NHL team which might happen sooner then later if the Pens can't get their arena built, its a Canadian business man that bought the Pens. if he could he would bring them to Hamilton, Ontario, but it will be hard cause of the Leafs are so close and his second city he has mentioned was Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Kansas City was another spot for a team but that was if this other buyer would of bought the team, so you can say it might not go there. but another great spot would be to bring back the Jets in Winnipeg they have a new arena which is bigger then most NHL arena's and the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario has a Capacity of 19,000 also bigger then most arena's in the NHL, so if it doesn't work out in Pittsburgh you will see a new team in Canada which they should have a team cause hockey is Canada.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Winnepeg, Hamilton, and Quebec City would be ideal places for expansion or relocation of teams in the NHL. Winnepeg and Hamilton's playing venue is newer and bigger than most NHL arenas. Plus both cities already have AHL teams and they have proved that hockey still is alive in both cities. The only worry for Hamilton is the fact that it is very close to Toronto which might cause the Leaf's to reject the expansion or relocation of a team to Hamilton.
As for Quebec City I think a lot of fans miss the Quebec rivalry. Plus how could a important city in the old NHL not have a NHL team? The only problem would be the Pepsii Centre which might be a bit to old.
Oh yeah, if the teams were to form in the US I would pick Seattle, Hartford, and Kansas City.

I agree with most people that the Winnipeg Jets, or Quebec Nordiques should come back. Also, I would like to see Cleveland and Seattle get a new team. If tow teams had to move, I say it would have to be the Florida Panthers, an the Columbus Blue Jackets. However, I really miss the Hartford Whalers. I know they came back on another league, but I really like the uniforms.

Also, for that guy who said the Blackhawks should move, guess what??!?!!!?? They can't. If I'm not mistaken, none of
The Original Six teams can relocate.

Winnipeg-they have nice new building just waiting for a NHL team to move in. Hamilton is another city that has an AHL team in a NHL sized building. The new owner of the Pens is from Hamilton so...but the Leafs might object.

Personally, I think Winnipeg deserves a team. The reality is that no new teams are going to Canada for the forseeable future. That said, my personal choice would be Milwaukee but the Blackhawks ownership would try to block it. My second choice would have to be Seattle.

My feeling is that the league needs to reduce the amount of teams by at least 12 along with relocations of teams that survive the cut. I got into hockey when the Scouts (Devils) and Capitals came into the league and the talent seemed to be spread thin then.

(Keep) Montreal, Boston, Toronto, Rangers, Detroit, Chicago, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New Jersey, and Colorado.

(Add) Winnipeg, Milwaukee, Seattle.

Of course, I have a better chance of catching Elvis piloting a flying saucer with Bigfoot as his navigator.

I really think Connecticut should get another team. I really think they would do well if an NHL team was brought back to Hartford. I know a lot of people in the state miss the Whalers (as do I) and I'd love to be able to drive a half hour to go see a game instead of a almost 2 hour train ride to go see the Rangers!

Winnipeg and throw one in somewhere in Saskatchewan. And Hamilton will never get a team, way too expensive to compete with Toronto. It's the same hopes as Toronto getting an NFL team: just won't happen. But if they happen to have one, it'll be a second Toronto-named team like the Yankees/Mets, Rangers/Islanders, Cubs/White Sox, etc.

i could circulate probable the Panthers to Seattle, and then positioned Columbus interior the eastern conferance. Greenbay could in no way artwork, in a city of one hundred,000 human beings, the Packers are extra desirable than sufficient. Beleive me, any team from any league, variety any game interior the international would desire to no longer compete with the %. in Greenbay. Milwaukee is only too close to Chicago, yet according to probability the disgruntled hawk followers could honestly get to observe some real hockey nevertheless. So yeah, Seattle it may be.

I hate to say it but Chicago needs to move, they only got 8000 people for a game earlier this season and they honestly aren't doing anything in Chicago, but I doubt they will move, so I'll say Columbus is gotta go.

To where, to everyone who said Hamilton, not possible, unless Toronto and Buffalo both agree to it, as each team has a certain area around their city where they can say no to a new team being put as it will run into their fan base. And Hamilton is in both Toronto's and Buffalo's. I'm not even going to go into whether or not TO and the Sabres would say yes or no (they both have to say yes).

As for Winnipeg, I think they deserve a team, but the chances of it are highly unlikely. They would need to build a new arena. Yes I know a new one was recently built in downtown Winnipeg, but it is 1000-2000 seats below the NHL minimum needed.

Quebec, could probably support a team. Although they don't seem to be pushing for one or anything, but its a possibility.

No where else in Canada would have the fan base to support one.

As for in the US, hmmm, interesting, well Las Vegas and Oklahoma City, were rumored not to long ago when it was thought the Penguins would be moving. Vegas seems like a better option to me as there is certainly a good number of people down there who would be able to watch the games. Think of it, book a week around your favourite team being there, go down, watch them play, gamble, etc. And I'm sure Las Vegas could get a could solid fan base of people that live around there in a few years.

Oklahoma City, i don't think so but thats just me

California has too many teams. a few need to go. LA Kings, Anaheim ducks, San Jose.

East coast, Atlantic division needs an overhaul. all teams here, rangers, isles, devils are within driving distance. Include Boston, Pitts and Philly and these guys don't travel far when they play each other, therefore are fresher around playoff time.
