Some idiot decides to give everyone on the page a thumbs up/down? Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of it?

As far as I know the rating of thumbs up or down doesn't effect anything.

I give everyone a Thumbs up. Why? Cause its nice to do. What is the purpous anyway? Some give everyone thumbs down.

The thumbs up/down doesn't really matter. Its the quality of the answer and the words that actually count. And...that's happened to me a few times but I just choose to ignore it because they are just being imbeciles unless I really know that it a bad thing I did.

Sometimes like just now on the question before yours there were 2 answers and both were really good. So good that rather than post an answer. I gave both a thumbs up - You can give the tie breaker. Thanks

I heard someone say once that it gives more points but I thought it was just when you do either up OR down so I can't imagine why they would do it. Prob that mean "Catch the Rainbow" guy!

[not on the level to give thumbs up or down] but i dunno maybe it does im just wishing someone gives me a thumbs up to boot my points but when you think about it it should only be used when completly and utterly nessecary.

I think for that reason alone the Thumbs Up/Down thing is stupid. It should be taken off.
