You can. Just download Limewire into your computer and you can get any media file you want for free. (It's legal too!!)

You won't have to pay for music to transfer to your ipod if you rip them from cds you have already bought. You will have to pay for them if you download them from Itunes or some other place like that. And don't let anyone tell you that yo can download songs for free. Most of the time 'free' music downloads are illegal, and punishable by large fines. That is stealing, and is against the law. Don't become one of those useless people who try to sponge off of society. If you want something you must pay for it. Nothing is free.
Downloading 'free' music not only takes money away from the artist, but reduced sales take money away from the people who make $5 an hour making cd cases, from the people who make $6 an hour selling cds at your local music store, and many others who are trying just to make a living, just like you. It is wrong.Don't do it.

Music from your PC can be freely downloaded to your Ipod provided they where uploaded from your own CD colection into MP3 files or purchased from a online music store (ie. Itunes store). Any other method (ie. Limewire, Bearshare, etc) is deemed as pirecy theft and you could land in big trouble. The risk / chice is yours.
