I've been keeping bettas for years, and they have been the most interactive and fun to watch of all my fish. They don't bite. If you give yours enough room -- at least a couple of gallons, preferably five -- it will swim around. Please don't keep one in a tiny cup or bowl. They like plants and little cave-type structures to explore. My current betta, a female, likes to play with bubbles (though most bettas don't like a current in their tank.) They do eat. Mine loves plain ole fish flakes.
I don't know much about koi, but I did a quick websearch and found out that you can get regular koi food and grind it to a powder for the babies until they are old enough to eat it normally.

I had two bettas. They are nice but not nice to each other so don't keep them in the same tank. They won't bite from experience my dad sometimes touches them when cleaning the water. They aren't playful well no fish is if u don't count dolphins. Of course they eat doesn't everything alive eat. Mines likes to eat flakes not the pellets my fish wouldn't touch the pellets and if the pellets stay there long it starts having mold. But it depends on your fish what does it like to eat and i have no clue about kois because i never had one so sorry about that.

I have two bettas. Yes, they are nice. They don't bite because their mouths don't open that wide.
My bettas swim a lot. If you have a betta that doesn't move very much, the water is probably too cold. Bettas are tropical fish that need warm water about 75-80 degrees farenheit.
Pet bettas eat pellets specified for bettas. They also like to eat bloodworms, but to them it's like candy, so you can't feed them that too often.
I don't know what kind of food baby kois eat.

I have over a dozen bettas. They are playful, but also very competitive, so if you get one make sure to never put it in with another male betta (or most other fish, particularly any with colors brighter than the betta himself).
Bettas can't bite because their mouths don't open that wide, but are shaped specially to draw in air (they don't just depend on their gills for oxygen like many other species of fish, but are able to draw air into a lung that is unique to labyrinth fish).
Like all fish, bettas need plenty of space to swim around. Unfortunately they thrive in shallow water, which means that most struggle a bit with the depth of a full tank. This does not mean that they deserve to live in a cup or tiny bowl! Remember to partially change the water frequently (especially if you don't circulate the water), balance the water's pH, and never use untreated tap water or distilled water. The chemicals in tap water can be harmful to the betta, and distilled water doesn't have enough oxygen in it.
Bettas will eat specially packaged betta food, available at most pet stores, as well as small pieces of green veggies such as lettuce and pea (excellent for air bladder problems). They don't mind other kinds of fish flakes, too, but be cautioned that cheap discount store food does not have sufficient nutrients. However, each betta has different taste, so pay attention to what he likes and what he isn't too excited about. Don't overfeed your betta - only a few pieces at a time, and never more than once a day. A variety is important to keep your betta healthy and happy.
To my knowledge, you can also purchase fish flakes that are appropriate to feed to baby koi in most pet shops. If the flakes are too big for the very young fish you may crush them into a powder to make them easy to eat. Hope all this helps! :)

First off I have no idea about baby Kois. Fish flakes probably though.
In regards to a betta. I have had my first one for almost 3 months now. He is super friendly. When I am by the tank he does a little dance back and forth while waiting for me to feed him. I think that the more time you spend with him the more he will interact with you. My Coworkers Betta actually takes the food out of his hand by jumping up to get it. They do spend a lot of time floating in the tank but boy when you pay attention to them they pay attention to you!!

Betta are nice (to you) but they are aggresive to other types of fish, esp. the smaller ones. ...they dont bite...... however I find them boring compared to other types of fish because they aren't as active. ....yes they do eat..... They're easy to take care of because they are "labryinth" fish which means they can breathe by taking oxygen from the water's surface--meaning you dont need to buy an air pump. They can be kept in a cup although they would be happier in somehting larger. Baby kois eat ground up fish flakes and baby brine shrimp. There's also commercial fish food made esp. for baby fish.

I had a Betta for a year that I bought at a discount store. I feed her Betta pellets which she preferred from Target. I kept her in a brandy sniffer goblet but she loved to swim in my bath tub when I cleaned her glass. She swam a bit in her glass, especially when she was hungry. I fed her a bit of her pellets every four hours-she got hungry that often. Baby Koi fish eat their special Koi food, just ask any knowledgeable pet store worker or go to a website for Koi.
