If you are going to give a gift card - make it a game for him to find it so that the gift IS personal.
I made up computer generated "coupons" for all sorts of services (including adult content things) and left post-it notes all over the house telling him where to go next like a scavenger hunt...sometimes he got "favors", sometimes there were silly things like a Snickers bar or a bottle of wine...when he finally got to the end of the trip, he found the card inside a pair of underwear (that I was wearing) that said "both of these are for you"...
It was fun and he has asked me for a gift card again!!!

Most certainly yes. Some men don't have great lists of things they want. I'm quite happy with what I have in life and don't really bother with material things. I wouldn't like a gift voucher as I just end up leaving them in the drawer. Think of something even if it's only shirts, sweatshirts etc. Surely a dvd, cd would be appreciated. I know I am hard to buy for but I have what I want a nice home and lovely wife and I would not trade either for anything. Perhaps he should learn to be grateful for what you buy him. Perhaps he is happy that he has youthat he does not really need presents.

My Husband and I have been married 3 years, I get him gift cards all the time. The few times I've tried to pick something out for him he's returned it!

I would give him several gift cards from various places, and I think that would be perfect for a guy who is difficult to buy for. I, too, buy my guy movie pass cards, video cards, Starbuck cards and he is as happy as can be with them. This way, he can chose when he wants to go a use them. I would put them with his favorite candy or a nice tie or pair of socks.

gift cards are way to impersonal and show a lack of sincerity for someone as close as a husband. ask yourself how would you feel if he just got you a card to someplace. It would show that he hadnt been listening to you nor does he care about your hobbies and personality.

I think it is. You might as well give him cash.
My suggestion, if you give him the gift card, make sure you get him somthing personal as well.
Gift giving is not only about the gift but the person giving the gift.

Naw, I've been married almost 7 years and I'll probably get a g/c for my husband. He can't think of anything he wants but I know a store where he spends a lot of money. He might think of something he needs later.

Get him a gift card, but make it for a suite at a wonderful hotel for the weekend! Quality time spent together in elegant surroundings. If he again doesn't really like it, at least you will!
P.S. You might want to wrap it up in a box with a sexy little nighty for yourself to wear!

it easily relies upon on who the recipient is. I, myself, LOVE getting present playing cards in spite of the indisputable fact that it easily relies upon on the placement. on your case, very last year, i imagine you've been tremendous giving them present playing cards. in case you've been interior vacationing distance to confirm them in individual, then no, a present card must be tacky. in case you'll see them in individual, then i ought to evade the present card and move for something extra own. in case you'd be away and under no circumstances able to confirm them to interchange presents, then get them a present card. once you eventually see them back after the vacation, you ought to continually have yet another present to provide them in individual. Christmas isn't about the presents. this is about deliberating those you adore and being with them, if plausible. keep in mind, this is the concept that counts. in case you experience uncomfortable giving them a present card, then i ought to personalize the present card with the help of having one for a spa clinical care, or a evening out on city on your mom and father (dinner and action picture and perhaps a evening in a motel in case you may have adequate money that)! it rather is a lot extra powerful than some greenbacks to the community Wal-Mart. sturdy success and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
