Hi. Subtract 1, 2x=4. Divide by 2, x=2. 3x-4 means 3*2-4= 6-4=2

if 2x+1=5, first you must subtract 1 from both sides: this gives you 2x=4; next you have to divide both sides by 2 to get x by itself and find the value of it. this gives you x=2.
now that you know x, you plug it into the x position in the next equation. so you do 3(2)-4. this gives you 6-4=2, so the value of 3x-4 is 2.

2x+1=5 simplifies to x = 2. therefore, you can just plug in and simplify the other equation. 3*2-4. Order of operations dictates multiplication first, thus, 6-4, and hopefully we all know 6-4=2. ta da. the value is 2

2x+1=5
leads to
2x=4
leading to
x=2.
Plug in 2 wherever you see x in 3x-4. Thus
3*2-4=6-4=2

at the starting up, crew symilar products on each and every length, which ability: 3x-4=-3x+8 Now placed all products containing an x on one aspect (in various of circumstances yet no longer neccesarily, left), all others on the different aspect (once you're taking something from one aspect of the equation to the different, its signal alterations): 3x+3x=8+4 So now you've 6x=12 Now you divide by the coefficient of x, it really is 6: x=2 So that's your answer: x=2 reliable luck!
