Every body of mass produces a force of gravity. The larger the body, the more gravity it produces. The sun is large enough to produce enough gravity to pull Earth towards it. However, at the same time, Earth is in motion. The motion would be straight, but because the sun's gravity pulls Earth towards the sun, the Earth's path of motion is curved around the sun. It is like swinging a ball on the end of a string, with gravity acting like an invisible string.

All things with mass exert a gravitational pull on all other things. So, for example, not only is the earth's gravity attracting you towards it but you are also attracting the earth towards you.

The key concept to understand here is mass. Mass is not the same thing as weight. Weight is a measure of how heavy you are and is a product of your mass and the value of gravity at the point you are standing. This is why people weigh less on the moon. The more mass something has the larger the gravitational force it produces. So, since the Earth has much more mass than you do the pull it exerts on you is much more than the pull you exert on it.

So why does the Earth go round the Sun? It is a simple question of mass. The Sun is the more massive body so the Earth revolves around it. The reason we are not sucked into the sun is because we are held at the position (called orbit) where the gravitational forces between us balance.

Every object with mass attracts every other object in the universe through the force of gravity. The greater the mass, the greater the force of attraction between them. The mass of the earth is huge, and mass of the sun is tens of thousands of times greater, so the earth is going to go around the sun and not the other way around.

The only reason the earth doesn't fall into the sun though is that the centripetal force caused by the earth moving round the sun exactly balances out the force of gravity. For an example of this, attach an object to a string and swing it around your head in a circle. The string is like the force of gravity pulling the object towards you, but the centripetal force is pushing the object away from you, so it circles around your head like the earth circles around the sun.

The earth moves around the sun because it is attracted to it by the sun's gravity, but at the same time inertia pulls it away an it keeps the globe in an orbit.

The Earth turns around the Sun because of the force of gravitation exerted by the Sun. And it surely turns on itself because of the movement the rocks had during the time of the formation of the Earth. The Moon, with the effects of tide, slows down the rotation of the Earth on itself (of about a one hour lost out of 100.000.000 of years)

both Sciences of Copernicus and Ptolomy were no longer mutually unique they were both perfect and incorrect.to say that the earth revolve around the sunlight Or the sunlight revolves around the Earth became no longer precisely impressive in both theories. actuality=immediately all of us comprehend extra useful. The Earth -sunlight gadget includes a stability of gravity ability between both gravitational thousands. This stability is maintained at a level of fulcrum referred to as barry midsection . So both the sunlight & the Earth revolve round this worry-free element on a similar angular speed. so a techniques as getting killed via forms in at the moment isn't any distinct then immediately. you'd be tortured to demise by employ administration gadget in huge apple purely because you probably did not placed the right dot on their software kinds, now to not indicate something else of our legal gadget who're reponsible for putting convicts that are possibility free to demise. Its no longer an basic international. One should be real looking about concerns.

By rotation on the Earth's axes and also around the Sun. Gravity is involved in this process.
