In a room divide the corners into categories (seasons, colors, dived the months of the years up, etc...) and then depending on the size of the group you might need more than four groups, tell them to walk to the corner of their favorite season, color, birthday month...etc... Then once they get in the divided groups they can talk about what it was that brought them there or you could give them topics to talk about and mingle.
Hope this helps!

You can do a "People Hunt" activity. Basically, just use a word processor and create a table with three columsn and perhaps 10-15 rows. In one column, make a list of things like" Favorite food, TV show you like to watch, somewhere you've been that was fun," etc. Then, for the two other columns, entitle them "You" and "Someone else." Have them fill in answers in the column labled "You" and then let them walk around and try to find someone else who has the same answer. It's a good way to see what people have in common, plus get to know each other a little better.

Have them think of a word that describes themselves that begins with the same letter as their first name. Then, go around in a circle and have them say the word and their first name. It helps them learn a bit about each others' personalities and to learn names.
If their disabilities would hinder the first letter part, then that can be easily removed and just have it be an adjective and their name.
Good luck!

Personal interest surveys are really good for ice breakers, they are not really time consuming and you can learn also from your students and each other. Include questions such as : favorite color, food, sports, hobbies or crafts.

Have everyone privately write out "two truths and a false" about themselfs. Then take turns as each person reads out their facts and the group has to guess which one is false!
