1) it isn't at all attractive
2) it isn't very healthy
3) it inferrs cheating (sometimes)
4) it inferrs laziness
5) it isn't culturally acceptable
6) it's ugly

any or all of these may apply. I myself do not like my children writing on their skin anywhere as my main concern is if there are toxins in the ink, and also the ugliness of it.

CHECK THIS OUT!!: It doesn't look nice and your mom is trying to prepare you for when you get older you won't have a habit of writing on your body. Imagine: You're some big wig lawyer and your making the big bucks but you have ink all over your hands and clothes (well if appearance is everything you might not get any clients let alone a job at some huge law firm; think about this would you hire someone who is clean and neat and ink-free or someone who has ink on their hands and arms and clothes???)

Well for one thing it is unsightly but I think her main reason for saying this is that ink over time can leech into your blood stream and poisen you. This is not at all uncommen. I did it when I was in high school because I worked with printing stuff at school and one day had a bit of an accident with it. Found out that there are set backs to too much ink.

The ink soaks into your bloodstream, causing dysentery and death! ---Not...your mom probably just cares about how you present yourself to other people, and having writing on your hands makes you look like an airhead teen.

It looks tacky, hard to wash off, ink can get into your blood stream, and you might put your hand on your face and pen will be all over.

lol, cuz she probably doesn't like the way it looks. in her view, it probably looks grubby. kids do quirky things their parents don't like. it's an age-old battle. my kids did quirky, weird things, but i chalked it up to being a kid thing and realized they would stop doing it eventually, and they did. i had one son who liked to chew on paper, another son who used to bite his nails when he was nervous, and my daughter used to read stories to her horse while she was entirely naked. hahahaha, i must say i'm really glad she out-grew that one.!!! i do have photos of her doing this, and don't hesitate showing them to her fiance everytime she's being naughty to me.
