East brunswick, Metchen, North Brunswick, Colts Neck, Marlboro... All of these places are in central jersey, the school systems are great in these areas, and houses in the areas are good

It would help if you could give us an idea of where in NJ you want to be. In Northern NJ there's anywhere in Bergen County but it's very expensive. The advantage is that it's a very short commute to NYC. Some parts of Essex County are good (Short Hills, Livingston) but they are also very expensive.
Almost anywhere in Morris County is good and the taxes are somewhat reasonable but then you're getting a little farther from NYC. In Somerset County, once you pass Basking Ridge you're heading into farm country.
In Central NJ East Brunswick is great but the taxes are ridiculous.
I'm not that familiar with South Jersey but I know that Cherry Hill is very nice.

In New Jersey, i'd bypass with Hoboken. it really is an basic commute to huge apple and is a impressive position. Newark does have some places around the course station, close to the waterfront that are ok, yet i'd shy away. Newark's attractiveness isn't reliable. There are different extra suburban parts in New Jersey that are very impressive and many have constrained provide up bus service into huge apple. It relies upon on what kind of life variety you pick - city vs suburban.
