You are probably allergic to something you are using. Are they only red and bloodshot when you wear makeup? If so, on your days off, skip one product at a time. One day no mascara, one day do not use your eyeshadow, one day no eyeliner, one day skip the ponds eye makeup remover. It's a bit of a hassle, but you should be able to narrow down what is bothering your eyes. If it is not your makeup or makeup remover, it may be your contacts, hair products, or perfume. Any of these things can mess with your eyes if you are allergic to them.

Alot of the time when you use an eye makeup remover there is a film that is left around the eye area and close to the tear ducts which in turn can easily irritate the eyes. Another possibility is you could have infected your mascara or eyeliner with bacteria and that can only multiply over time.
My suggestion is to use your face wash (non acne) after you use your eye make up remover.
Throw away all of your eyeliner mascara and eyeshadows (I know it is painful) you must replace everything, use disposable applicators and if you use brushes use a spray on brush cleaner.
Dont touch your eyes unless you wash your hands with a strong anti bacterial and last but not least buy the contacts that you can throw away after 2 weeks and put them in before moisturiser, sunscreen and makeup.

You could be allergic to an ingredient OR getting it in your eyes somehow. After you put your makeup on, try putting a couple drops of Visine eye drops and it should help clear the red up :)

Is it the eyeshadow, or the liner? I can wear mascara, but eyeliner irritates my eyes. You'll have to find out which make-up is causing the problem and find something else. Look for things that state 'hypoallergenic' or 'for sensitive skin'. You may be getting it -in- your eyes instead of around it, also. Be careful during the application process. Good luck.

Maybe you are allergic to it, or perhaps your makeup is too old.
Try a different brand.
