i think nothing should be built there,, the space should be left as reminder.
i know that people will disagree but a vast derilict empty space will show more than building some sad little park , building or local governmental peace offerring to the people.
Emotions are raw and that is what it should reflect. The only people who should be allowed to build anything are the families of the ones who died there.
I would suggest a big and i mean huge memorial, with every bodies name and picture up there along with all the army personel who have died since.

Although I'm not a new yorker, I have some building experience. My advice would be to use adequate foundation and engineering bricks and ensure a damp course is included. These are basic rules for a good start for any building projects.

i don't know how i feel about building there. i keep asking myself questions, could this happen again? how many more lives do we have to see suffer? it would be a good idea to build a building (or buildings) for jobs/work, but not in the same location, someplace else. i think the site should be a memorial and reminder of lives lost in the attack

Well it makes the skyline look strange to me without them but I don't know if I would want to rebuild them the same way. They apparently were not built strong enough in the first place but I would like something to go there...Maybe a park or something.
