I'm a resident physician at UCSF, it sounds like a migraine headache, but I would not give an official diagnosis over the internet. Tell her NOT to worry about a brain tumor. She should see a doctor, at minimum they can give her medications for migraine relief. Migraines are very common and are nothing to worry about, just have her go in so she can get that pain under control.
Tell her not to take tylenol everyday (or ibuprofen) because you can get something called "analgesic rebound headache" if you start taking those everyday. Basically most over the counter pain meds like Alleve, Motrin, etc are only good for once in a while use.

Train your brain. You have stinking - thinking. When the girls come in from Hollywood immediately think of your research or what you should be studying and get into a book immediately. Also guard your eyes and your brain wouldn't think so much.

Get her blood pressure taken. My friend had a very bad headache for 3 days and it turned out to be really high blood pressure and she then had a stroke and now can't move her left arm. Just to be safe take her to the ER or doctor to get her pressure checked.

Has she had her eyes checked recently? I had terrible headaches, then found I needed glasses. Poor eye muscles that are trying so hard to focus cause tremendous pain.

What is she eating or ingesting into her body. Drugs is always a first check. Illegal drugs or is she pregnant? Pregnancy can mimick flu symptoms. If not that, Is she eating properly or just eating junk everyday.

Talk to a doctor. It could be Kryarii (sorry I have no idea how to spell it). My twin has it, and had the same symptoms as your friend. All you have to do is get an MRI and they can tell what is wrong.
