Who here agrees that the music from the early 90s was the best out of the whole decade? The late 90s had that explosion of talentless pop robots. But the early 90s had great music.

The dance music was awesome! It was rhythmic and sexy and just got you into the zone. The rock was awesome too. Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morrisette. The R&B was great, some real soulful stuff came out, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson. Rap was pretty hardcore and violent, but at least it wasn't as phony as it is today.

Yep! Some great music from that era. Anyone else agree?!

I liked the late 80s hard rock/heavy metal, but hated all of those hair bands that wore tons of makeup, but couldn't play.

I'm thankful that Nirvana's success was the death-knell for a lot of junky bands, but unfortunately, a lot of really good bands met their demise too.

When I first heard Pearl Jam, I realized that I heard it 20 years prior. There was nothing original or new there, just the look of the guys playing it.

I also liked Aerosmith more when they were all drinking and strung out. They just don't write 'em like they used to.

Awesome music for that time period. I agree that the later 90s was pretty insincere.
