It depends what e-mail provider you have to stop junk e-mails from getting sent to you. Usually, you can "turn on" a bulk folder which directs strange e-mails to that specific folder and you can empty the folder without even looking at them (or their nasty/disgusting titles). To my knowledge, the most common cause for junk e-mails is signing up or distributing your e-mail to other companies. Hackers commonly target those companies and can get mailing lists of all of their subscribers. You should never open an e-mail that is unfamiliar since it could be a virus/trojan/worm/etc. and destroy your computer. My advice is only give your e-mail address to people you know or have two e-mail addresses (one specifically for personal use and the other for commercial memberships).

You have a number of options here.
You can report them - if doing so you must include the Full headers.
You could mark them as spam - if using e.g. yahoo email etc.
Or if your using your home email (which lets face it we all do) you could use http://www.spamihilator.com - This is a freeware program, it was open source until someone stole the code. Anyway it works on the Thomas Bayes system which basically means there is a black list (bad), a white list (good) and a grey list (unknown). It puts all which isn't in the friends list into the recycle bin so that you can either delete, learn or restore.
Learn means that the filter will work far better.
Delete - as it says.
Restore - that'll restore the email so that you can recieve it from the recycle bin and transfer it into your inbox.
If you set it on high, it does the exact same job as mailwasher but far better.

One way to solve the junk mail problem is to set up another email account and only use it when you register or have to enter your details on line this way all the junk goes to this email and you simply go and delete the lot once in a while.Ps don't open any just tick and delete.

Mark them as junk mail in the adventure that they bypass on your inbox. yet do not click something like unsubscribe or something like that. The extra you do this, the further they deliver your emails to distinct junk mail organizations....

Maybe you posted your e-mail address on the internet; maybe you or one of your mates has spyware on their pc that has nicked the addressess from their address book.
Just change your e-mail address once a year or so if you're using free webmail like Yahoo; and set the spam options on your account.
Or use Thunderbird instead of Outlook Express, and try Mailwasher spam filter.
http://www.mozilla.com/ Firefox web browser and Thunderbird e-mail program.

You have exposed your email to sites that sell your information. That is how you are receiving them. You need to adjust your email filters. If it it yahoo, go to Options
