My daughters hooded goldfish has a very red belly - just started this morning. Is it sick? pregnant? It has always been a little funny acting - likes to sleep on it's back by the filter. Is it sick or is this normal?

The males won't ask for directions or give up the remote control, and the females will appear to be talking about the other females and complaining.

if it is red vein like streaks that is septicemia. It needs to be treated quickly or it will die. Meijers selss a brand called maracyn. I cant remember if you will want maracyn one or maracyn two, so you will have to read the package.

Male goldfish will have white pimples called breeding tubercles on the very front ray of their pectoral fins and on their gill plates. However, they are not always present. They come and go.

Red Belly is usually a symptom of an advanced bacterial infection wherein the bacteria have invaded the internal organs.
